Well-child visits support more than babies. They support entire families.

Dr. Natalie Burr is a pediatrician at Little Rock Pediatric Clinic and a board member of the Arkansas Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics. In a guest commentary for Talk Business & Politics, she explains how one of the most impactful aspects of a well-child visit is the interactions with families and the support and resources providers can connect them to.

Programs such as HealthySteps have strengthened our ability to support families during this period. HealthySteps specialists work alongside pediatric providers to help address developmental concerns, connect families with community resources and provide additional support that may not fit within a traditional office visit. These team-based approaches recognize that raising a healthy child requires more than medical care alone.
