ACEs Screening Resources

ACEs Screening Resources

To ensure that you have the tools you need to screen parents and babies for ACEs if desired, here are resources for implementing ACEs screening into your practice’s trauma-informed care efforts.

Currently, approximately 30% of HealthySteps sites use ACEs screeners with their families, and many do so to help identify families for Tier 3 services. For more resources on implementing ACEs screening, visit the Center for Youth Wellness’ National Pediatric Practice Community on Adverse Childhood Experiences and consult this informative brief. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also have many useful resources, as does the American Academy of Pediatric’s STAR Center. It’s important to also consider resilience and protective factors when assessing ACE scores. Another great resource for up-to-date research and information is ACEs Connection—you can read articles, access webinars, and join their email list.
